I can confidently claim I have called around 100 games, events, or competitions in my experience of high school on air reporting. Whether it’s on the field collecting information from coaches or players, to up high in the press box calling the play as it happens, I love being on air and getting to speak my own personal script about sports. I was nervous beyond disbelief my On Air debut football game. It was the first time speaking live for a stream, I fumbled and stuttered lots of words within the first 10 minutes. But I kept practicing and working hard on my comprehension and can now comfortably talk into a microphone solo or with a co-commentator. I can thank communications for what it’s done in helping me pursue my dreams.
